Topping off ceremony for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Crisis Services and Diagnostic Center

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD), River Edge Behavioral Health and Mercer University School of Medicine celebrated the topping off ceremony for the new Crisis Services and Diagnostic Center (CSDC) serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) on Friday, June 14, 2024, in Macon.
The ceremony celebrated raising the final structural beam into place. Individuals served by River Edge, team members, partner organization leadership and guests had the opportunity to sign the beam prior to a formal ceremony.
This facility, the first of its kind in the state, is a collaboration between DBHDD, River Edge and Mercer University School of Medicine and is being constructed on leased property provided by Macon-Bibb County. The 36,000-square-foot facility will contain a crisis services wing run by River Edge and a primary care clinic and diagnostic center run by Mercer University School of Medicine. A broad range of healthcare services will be provided including behavioral health assessments, dentistry, psychiatry, neurology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and language pathology, ophthalmology and other specialized services.
